EURO2012: Spain won. two. three. four.

To those who thought Spain couldn't make it without their top scorer and beast as top notch defender.
To those who doubted Del Bosque's choice of Torres.
To those who labelled Germany as the new favorites after yesterday's match.
To all the football fans, in every corner of the earth, who thought, even for a second,

"What IF Spain don't win..."

To me,
To you.

I speak for many when I say I haven't seen Spain play so well in a long time - nearly 4 days.
1. When Del Bosque had Torres in the starting line up, I admit my first thought was that it was because Cesc Fabregas had an injury scare during the week. But no one knows the boys better than Bosque. He gave Torres 70minutes and Torres gave him 2 amazing goals. It was wonderful. The best part was that the striker initiative was evident - he was brilliantly smooth in his movements without needing to over complicate anything. Two goals for all the torment and struggle.
I felt that Torres was telling football, "I only didn't score because Chelsea didn't give me the opportunity. Here in Spain, I have the men who are renown for making chances - for making the forwards shine. And they have done so for me too. For Espana. For glory."
My chains are gone, I've been set free.
My God my Savior has ransomed me.
And like a flood, his mercy reigns.
Unending love, Amazing grace - Chris Tomlin.

2. I clearly remember a commentator saying that yesterday it seemed as if Germany were the new favorites for the Euro. Both the finalists really proved their worth - but Spain answered the shout of the Germans with a mighty cry.

Fernando Torres (1)
David Silva (2)
Fernando Torres (3)
Cesc Fabregas (4)
3. Is it a new era? I don't know if it was just me but I paticularly missed seeing much of Xavi today. He told Silva to get in line, he was the boss and he took the free kick over his team mate and...I cringed as it flew past the post. Xavi Hernandez. Scratch that. The great Xavi Hernandez - a highlight in Spain's brilliance. I really want to see him highlighting the pitch with his brilliance - again and again. Not once, not twice but 265 times like he did when he passed more than the entire Chelsea team.
But i suppose, behind every brilliant goal - Xavi was the initiator.

Xavi looking a little sad, eyes cast down. The pressure looks to be building on the criminal mastermind of Spain.
4. Ireland are now out of the Euro. They will still face Italy but its up to Spain to win against Croatia to be certain of going through. Its just a matter of faith. Faith, fate and football.

All that and one man we call Vincente Del Bosque.

I know what I'm doing.
